After getting his start at Fallon in Minneapolis, Matt decided to head for warmer weather at Crispin Porter & Bogusky in Miami. That then lead him to stints in their Boulder and LA offices where he rose to the ranks of VP CD while making award winning work for many national and international accounts such as Burger King, Volkswagen, Microsoft, Coke Zero, and Domino’s to name a few. After 8 years at Crispin he decided to try the freelance world as an opportunity to get an idea of what other agencies were like, expecting to eventually land somewhere full-time. But discovering an enjoyment for working on a variety of clients with a variety of people, and having the ability to pursue passion projects such as his surf shop, Leeward Northwest Surf & Sea, he is still freelancing today. Matt’s work has been recognized by Cannes, Clio, D&AD, Effies, One Show, Art Directors Club, London International Awards, Andy Awards, Webby’s, Addy’s, Communication Arts, and Lürzer’s Archive. His parents think it’s pretty good too.
